About our service

If the case is an emergency please phone and speak to us rather than email. Our telephones are staffed 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.

We are always happy to discuss a case with you before referral. Give us a ring and ask to speak to the relevant vet or department.

Yogi had his angular limb surgery at Bishopton’s Ripon practice on December 13th 2024 by Laura Pearce and Rachel Field. The surgery went well and Yogi came home on December 15th with his splint on had to be confined to his crate. The care that Yogi received before the op and afterwards was second to none from the whole team both at Ripon and Northallerton, their dedication and attention was commendable. Every member of staff treated Yogi as if he was their own and he absolutely loved to see everyone when he went for his X-rays. He is now fully recovered and back to his normal cheeky self, his limp has gone and his leg is much straighter and it’s all thanks to the team, but a special mention to Laura Pearce. Thank you Laura, you did an amazing job.

We brought our 7 year old Labrador Luther to Bishopton vets when he tore his cruciate ligament and required surgery. This was his second cruciate repair, but our first time at this practice and all the staff were amazing with him. Laura was on hand at all times to message if we had any concerns or just for updates on how he was doing in his recovery. Overall over the moon with how Luther was treated and cared for throughout. He’s back to his normal self like nothing has ever happened. Could not recommend or thank this team enough.

Dear Sophie, I would like to thank you for the care and attention Fudge receives when he visits for his acupuncture. This treatment has been an invaluable part in helping him with his chronic back pain. Fudge enjoys his visit with you and happily sits for the acupuncture needles to be inserted which is undertaken so gently he doesn’t even notice. Fudge has been receiving acupuncture for quite some time now and its benefits have been very obvious and sustained. He has not required pain medication for a prolonged period of time. During his appointment you are always professional and kind to Fudge and myself and always happy to give me valuable advice regarding his health and happiness for which we are so grateful. Each visit also ensures his pain control is adequate with ongoing assessment and prompt action if required. I would recommend this service to anyone who has a dog with pain issues as it really has helped little Fudge. If any of your clients are unsure of acupuncture would like to see Fudge having his treatment he would be very happy to meet them.

Our rescue boxer, Lou, means the world to us. When she began struggling to breathe, our local vet discovered a benign nasal tumour and referred us to Bishopton Vets. From our first visit, vet Laura Pearce showed incredible compassion and expertise, guiding us through every step with patience and care. A CT scan revealed further health issues, and while surgery wasn’t possible for the nasal tumour, Laura recommended a new treatment for a tumour on Lou’s foot. Even while on annual leave, she checked in daily via PetsApp to monitor Lou’s recovery. We’re now moving forward with chemotherapy, knowing Lou is in the best hands. We can’t thank Laura and the Bishopton team enough for their dedication, support, and genuine kindness.

I was referred to Bishopton Vets after I requested a second opinion for my dog who had chronic constipation. I was seen very quickly and offered a CT scan which would give detailed information of what the problem was. Although it was expensive I felt it was worth the money to be given an exact diagnosis without the trauma of an exploratory operation. Unfortunately the results showed the worst prognosis stage 4 cancer but after the shock we were able to plan the best course of action. Vet Laura Pearce kept in contact with me answering all my questions in great detail and always respecting my own wishes. It was so reassuring to know she was there to support us all the way. She spent her personal time researching possible treatments but I decided to go the natural route to give my dog the best quality of life. Laura was always available on the phone and she checked in on us constantly and was pleased when she heard how well my dog was doing. She never undervalued my choice of a natural approach only supported me. She cared about my emotional wellbeing throughout. When the end came she stayed with me for ages emotionally supporting me and patiently answering all my questions. She was so compassionate which made such a heart-breaking time into a very peaceful transition. I will always be grateful for everything she did for us. To have that ongoing support made the cost of having the CT scan worth every penny. In my grief I am not left with any feelings of guilt or what ifs just a comforting knowing that together we did the absolute best we possibly could for my dog who actually lived way beyond our expectations. Bishopton Vets will now always be my first opinion. Anne and Sky
