Ben Gaskell

Ben Gaskell
BVSc MRCVS
Vet - Sunley Raynes
A bit about me...
Ben graduated in 2000 from Bristol Vet School, which he says seems a long time ago. Originally from the South West, Ben spent most of his formative years on the Wirral near Leahurst where his parents worked at the Vet School. His first job was at Peter Scott Dunns equine clinic in Berkshire, followed by a stint back in Cheshire at the practice now known as Brown Moss Equine. Ben came to Yorkshire in 2003 and joined Bishopton working on the equine and large animal side. After an enjoyable sabbatical in industry and some time back in practice in Ripon, he’s very pleased to have returned to the Bishopton fold for the long term. Ben’s clinical interests are limited but include racehorse and sports horse performance, in addition to an unhealthy interest in worm control and wormer resistance.

Outside of work Ben gets ready to go back to work, spends his time looking after his three girls, dogs, ponies and cat, with his wife Mel, who also teaches in the area. Occasional bursts of enthusiasm see him play tennis and very sporadically get back on a horseā€¦

A bit about me...

Neil graduated from The RVC, London in 2010 and went on to complete an internship at Minster Equine Hospital near York. After spending just under a year working in first opinion equine practice he joined Mark Johnston Racing becoming one of two vets in charge of all the veterinary care for 250+ racing TBs. It is during the 7.5 years spent there that his passion for the sport of racing grew and along with his wife and now fellow colleague, Lucy, Neil has successfully gone on to train point to point and National Hunt racehorse winners, with hopefully many more to come

When not with the horses Neil is kept busy looking after his two young children and family dog, Max.
