Part-Time Equine Receptionist
We are looking for a Part-Time Equine Receptionist to join Bishopton Equine Vets in the beautiful North Yorkshire city of Ripon. Bishopton Equine Vets is a busy, well-equipped RCVS Equine Practice, working alongside a sizeable, well-established mixed practice.
The successful candidate will ensure our clients and professional colleagues receive a positive, friendly and efficient service, whilst exceeding their expectations at all points of contact. They will be responsible for answering the telephone, interacting with clients, handling enquiries, booking appointments and procedures, ensuring clinical kits are prepared for the veterinary surgeons and other administrative duties as required. Occasional animal handling may be requested. A knowledge of local geography would be beneficial and efficient time-management is essential.
The position is for 24 hours a week, working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 13:00-17:00 and Thursday 8:30-5. There is the potential for additional hours in the future.
The suitable candidate must be flexible, professional and enthusiastic and show a proactive ownership of each enquiry handled.

Registered Veterinary Nurse
We are looking for an RVN to join our team in the beautiful North Yorkshire city of Ripon. Bishopton Vets is a busy, well-equipped RCVS Hospital and ISFM Cat Friendly Gold Standard Practice. We are proud to own one of the few feline radio-iodine treatment units in the U.K. Our veterinary team includes RCVS Advanced Practitioners in surgery, medicine and small animal practice and we have a visiting ophthalmologist, dermatologist, cardiologist, ultrasonographer and MRI scanner. We also have nurses with further qualifications in emergency and critical care and behaviour.
The successful candidate would work on a full-time basis, supporting first opinion and referral procedures. We have a high and varied caseload. The current rota includes two 12-hour shifts per week and 1in4 Saturday or Sunday 12-hour shifts. Full-time nurses receive one day off during their working week.
This position would be on a 7 nights on, 7 nights off rota. We are proud to provide our own out-of-hours service and in-patient care to both our own clients and those of neighbouring practices, with our own vets on-call overnight.
