🇬🇲The Gambia Horse & Donkey Trust Appeal 🇬🇲
Those of you who have recently seen Sara out and about on her calls may be aware that she has been asked by BEVA – The British Equine Veterinary Association to represent them on a trip to The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust in December. She will be providing veterinary care to working horses and donkeys both at the GHDT main hospital and at travelling clinics, along with offering educational talks and class to local school children and horse and donkey owners.
We are delighted that one of our vets has been chosen for this role, and are keen to support Sara and the GHDT as much as possible. Resources in The Gambia are very limited and we are hoping to send Sara with lots of useful materials.
This is where you come in! If you would like to help Sara and The GHDT by ‘sponsoring’ bandage material for Sara to take with us please let us know! We will be buying a bulk amount to send out and the more we collect the more we can help. If you’d like to contribute then we’ll add a nominal amount of £2 per donation to your next bill and of course keep you updated with the work in The Gambia. Sara is also collecting bits, of 4.5inches or smaller if you have any lurking in your tack room!
We anticipate your generosity to cause havoc with Sara’s baggage allowance, so BEVS will be covering the cost of an extra bag! We look forward to filling it with a variety of resources to help working equids in The Gambia.
