Relevant Skills Training for Pig Stockmen & Farm Managers

Bishopton Veterinary Group is pleased to support the British Pig Industry and its Knowledge Transfer initiative by hosting a series of ten training courses throughout the summer of 2009.
Aimed at the senior stockperson or farm manager level, the courses will provide focused and relevant information of practical use to pig keepers. If you work with pigs, and have ever wanted to know how or why a pig responds best to environment or management changes, then these courses will give you the answers that will help to improve the health, welfare and productivity of your stock.
Each separate production area of the farm will be covered in one of a series of ten workshops, led by one of specialist pig vet team, Duncan Berkshire. Active participation and assistance in solving problems from your own farms will be encouraged.
Additionally the content will support anyone undertaking the Pig Industry Certificate of Competence training. Each course will qualify for PIPR points.
Thanks to the assistance of Yorkshire Forward, and industry sponsorship from Intervet Schering Plough Animal Health, the cost per course (including refreshments, lunch and course notes) will be a nominal £10 per attendee from farms within the Yorkshire and Humberside area. Stockpersons from outside this area may be asked for an additional contribution.
For further details or to reserve a place on any of the courses, please telephone Sylvia on 01765 602396.
