Check out this article in March’s British Dairying, outlining how the use of female genomic testing is helping our vet Neil’s family farm to improve herd health & productivity.
Genetics directly influence several key areas of management, health & welfare including; production, milk quality & fertility. The early focus of genomic testing was the benefit in identifying high quality young bulls early. However, the same power of prediction can be used to screen female youngstock, providing producers with predicted transmitting abilities (PTA’s) that are more reliable than traditional parent average values.
Through our sister company RAFT Solutions we offer the CLARIFIDE female genomic test and are working with a number of producers to help them interpret their results and align decision making with herd health goals and breeding objectives.
