Pet owners in Thirsk now have one of the region’s most highly regarded, well respected and longest established independent veterinary practices right on their doorstep. On the 3rd January 2023, we opened our brand-new, purpose-built surgery on Inspiration Way, Sowerby, Thirsk.
We have been looking after animals since 1943 and are delighted to be kickstarting our 80th anniversary year with a new surgery in Thirsk. As a nod to our early beginnings the new Thirsk surgery has been called Caxton Lodge after our original premises in Ripon.

Whilst the Thirsk surgery is fully equipped with separate cat and dog waiting rooms, consult rooms and wards, a dedicated operating theatre, ultrasound, x-ray and dental suite, plus an in-house lab and can deal with the vast majority of health concerns, clients will also have the peace of mind that in the case of significant emergencies, serious illness or specific diagnostic requirements, our RCVS Accredited Veterinary Hospital is only a short distance away in Ripon, offering 24/7 care.
